After 55 years in the industry, the Brewer Joinery team has decided to make a change. Reflecting on the industry and our market expectations, we felt a new brand would better align with our goals.
In this article, we explain the reasons behind our rebrand, the inspiration for the new design, the details of the DuCo brand, and what this means for you.
First established in 1968, the Brewer Joinery team has a well-earned reputation as joinery manufacturers, suppliers, and installers. As a third-generation, family-owned business, teamwork is at the heart of what we do.
Located in Cambridge, Waikato, Brewer Joinery has serviced hundreds of residential and commercial projects across the Central North Island. We work with builders, homeowners, and commercial developers to supply high-quality aluminium joinery of all specifications.
So the question is – why have we changed our brand?
There are several reasons behind the choice to rebrand, including the following:
When the company began in 1968, we manufactured timber joinery. Since then, aluminium has replaced timber, and our services have expanded to include design specifications, installation, and more. With this in mind, we felt that the term ‘joinery’ no longer reflected our full range of services.
Recognising that architects and homeowners often prefer a complete solution, we believe it is vital for us to partner with clients throughout the project. We aim to bring their vision to life, streamlining each step along the way.
Looking ahead, our plans for the company include more than just windows and doors. While we will continue manufacturing our signature aluminium joinery, we have considered expanding our scope to include new products and services that will support client needs. So we decided to remove the term ‘joinery’ from our brand name, allowing us to broaden our offering.
While we are still firmly committed to our Brewer family values, we want to recognise the full team of experts that represents us. Since humble beginnings as a small collection of family, we now have 40+ team members working across sales, production, dispatch, installation, and internal teams.
We always strive to provide clients with a seamless, stress-free experience. By rebranding, we can optimise our website and improve our processes at the same time.
Derived from the words “Duo” and “Company”, the name DuCo stems from the idea that everything is better connected. After all, the strength of a relationship between two people is the driving force of their success.
For us, that means coming together with our clients to achieve a better outcome in their residential or commercial projects. In other words, the relationship between our Customers, our People, and our products is at the heart of everything we do.
This also speaks to our family heritage, where two brothers came together to form Brewer Joinery. The continuation of that through generations has led us to the established, trusted team at DuCo.
The DuCo personality is defined as genuine, loyal, practical, driven, and refined. To reflect this, our new branding is bold, fresh, and distinctive.
At DuCo, we partner with clients in a range of situations, including residential projects, commercial projects, and the contractors working to bring them to life.

We will ensure complete package and product performance, show extra attention to detail, and problem-solve as required to complete your project within the timeframe.
We also partner directly with builders and building companies for residential construction projects. These partnerships are typically supply-only and the priority is efficiency, reliability, and value. In these partnerships, we work with the following:
If you want your building project to run smoothly and keep your clients happy, the DuCo team can assist you. We can provide expert advice and guidance, or simply supply your joinery according to your specifications and timeline. Essentially, our goal for you is less waiting and more building.
At DuCo, our number one priority is to create a space that you love to be in.
Our vision for the future of DuCo is to be trusted to make your projects easier and better. This means enabling a seamless client experience, delivering quality outcomes, and remaining consistent every time.
Our mission is the route we will follow to achieve our vision as a company. For us, that means prioritising care, communication, and craft in every aspect of our work.
You may be wondering, what sets DuCo apart? In addition to our high-quality products and workmanship, our company is founded on the following core principles:
Being a family business, we have strong values at the core of our operations. We believe in the power of relationships and are personally invested in our people, customers, and the wider industry.
We are driven to keep moving forward. For us, this means seeking innovations, upskilling, staying on top of industry trends, and looking for improvements at every opportunity.
We are proud to be locally owned and operated with all our manufacturing completed on-site. We also use glass and aluminium that is sourced right here in New Zealand.
Our products and processes are thoughtfully designed with the environment in mind. From end-to-end, we source local materials, take only what we need, and recycle 99% of manufacturing offcuts. We also supply high-performance thermal products and, as H1 specialists, we know how to ensure energy efficiency.
We always deliver on our promises and are here to support you the whole way through. We keep customers informed every step of the way and follow through each project to the very end.
Ultimately, this rebrand is a reflection of how we already operate so the essentials won’t be changing. We will still provide the same high standard of service you are used to with Brewer Joinery, prioritising your needs throughout the project.
The difference now is that our brand reflects the values that we have always had. We hope you enjoy the fresh look of our website and the improved user experience.
